Distribution Easement

A distribution easement grants the right to install and maintain the lower-voltage lines or smaller pipes that deliver electricity, gas, or water from the transmission system to end users. Utilities hold large numbers of these across their service areas. Each grant secures a narrow corridor for installation and ongoing maintenance, and a single utility may hold tens of thousands of them across its territory.
Distribution networks involve thousands of small easements. Gridlync centralizes them so the land record keeps pace with the system.
Example
Lakeshore Gas holds a distribution easement across the Bennett subdivision lots to run a service main to 60 homes, securing a 10-foot corridor on each lot for the pipe and future maintenance access.
